About Birgitte

Birgitte is highly devoted  soloist and  chamber musician  and has regularly performed in trio, quartet, sextet, and octet. Her newly formed piano-trio recently performed in Purcell Room, Victoria Hall, London, Salle Cortot, Paris and in various festivals​. Her concerts and CD’s have been reviewed in The Strad, Musical Opinion and The Gramophone as well as major Norwegian newspapers. She has regularly been soloist with orchestra in Norway as well as in Europe and Brazil.

Solo/solist
Birgitte has a wide repertoire for solo violin from Bach Solo-sonatas to Ysaÿe and Paganini. As soloist with orchestra from Bach to contemporary music.
With the pianist Helge Kjekshus Birgitte has performed a great number of concerts with Sonatas and duo repertoire, as well as recording a CD with works by Johan Halvorsen.

has performed concerts in France and Norway, with fantastic repertoire like Bach, Händel/Halvorsen, Glière, Kodàly. A double-concerto specially written for them by Bjørn Bolstad Skjelbred will be performed in 2022.

​Since 2017 Birgitte is playing regularly in a piano trio based in Paris, with Hélène Dautry, cello, Sandra Chamoux and Elena Rozonova, piano, performing some of the most beautiful chamber repertoire..

Her duo A Corda was formed in 1997 and have toured all over the world and recorded several CD's with their special repertoire, from classical to Spanish and Latinamerican music.
