About Birgitte

Birgitte is a highly devoted soloist and chamber musician. She has regularly performed in trio, quartet, sextet, and octet. She has performed in Purcell Room, Victoria Hall, London, Salle Cortot, Paris and in various festivals​. Her concerts and CD’s have been reviewed in The Strad, Musical Opinion and The Gramophone as well as major Norwegian newspapers. She has performed as soloist with orchestras in Norway, Europe and South America.

Solo / Soloist
Birgitte’s repertoire for solo violin ranges from Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas to Ysaÿe and Paganini.
As a soloist with orchestra, she performs works spanning from Bach to contemporary composers.
Together with pianist Helge Kjekshus, Birgitte has performed numerous concerts featuring sonatas and duo repertoire, and has recorded a CD with works by Johan Halvorsen.
Most recently, they have been touring with the program Tzigane.
Chamber music has been at the heart of her musical life — from duo, trio, quartet and quintet to sextet and octet — performing some of the most beautiful works in the repertoire by Tchaikovsky, Grieg, Mendelssohn, Rachmaninov, Chausson, Schumann, and many others.
